Just an OK air conditioner May 20, 2008 Reviewer:  baseballms (Washington)  See all my reviews >

This air conditioner cools ok (not as cool as I'd like though), and shuts off for whatever reason I'm not sure of yet. I was surprised at how loud it was - very hard to sleep until you get use to it. Wish I had gone with the window air conditioner instead.

Broken Vent May 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Jocelyn Thelen Real Name See all my reviews >

We purchased this A/C to use for our tent

#1 the vent only worked on one side
#2 the exhaust pipe for the window is blazing hot !

It takes forever and a day to cool the tent.

Don't recommend it for the price.

POS June 22, 2008 Reviewer:  Anarch-X (USA)  See all my reviews >

In May of 2007 I purchased this product and used it that summer. We tried to turn it on in June 2008 (1 month after the warranty expired) with no luck. We paid $100 for a repair person to take a look at the unit. He said that the motor was burned out. When we asked how much it would cost to repair the unit, he stated that with parts and labor the cost would be $330...we only paid $300 for the unit initially. I realize that sometimes products are just lemons and maybe I happened to get one of those. However, I am very disappointed with this product and will never purchase anything else made by Haier.

Just OK June 2, 2008 Reviewer:  J. Turner Real Name See all my reviews >

I got this air conditioner at my local target and only keep it for a week before returning it. It is huge - about the size of a kitchen trashcan. It has to vent to a window when in the cooling mode, which can make placement tricky. Lastly, it only does an ok job cooling. My room never got cool, just less hot then it was without the AC.

Not efficient May 15, 2008 Reviewer:  bylurhh "bylurhh" (Portland, OR, USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought this AC last summer and I am looking for a new one. The vent that connects it to the window is always blazing hot which makes the room even warmer. My 100sq/ft bedroom was never cool. It is rather large for a portable unit and is awkward to attach. The panel that fits into the window doesn't fit all the way up on my standard side slide window. It is nice to sit in front of, but I wouldn't rely on it for any more.

Works Great! September 3, 2007 Reviewer:  A. Tyler Real Name (Ohio)  See all my reviews >

Questionable reviews before I purchased - but it was so hot at the beginning of August I had to try something. The only downside is that the exhaust vent could be a LITTLE longer, the piece that fits in the window could fit windows a little bigger (I made do just fine in another room, but I was afforded that "luxury"), but I love this little thing. An exhaust hose would make it a little more efficient for me but it can quickly cool down a few nearby, small rooms in no time at all. But one thing I did realize from the reviews is that a few didn't have it exhausted correctly, which I can be certain would be problematic based on on the heat that radiates from the exhaust hose when the AC is running.

Cool air with syle. August 24, 2007 Reviewer:  DJ Marcus (Denver, CO)  See all my reviews >

This unit works nicely in my bedroom. If you utilize Air Conditioning basics knowledge and set it up properly, you get a nice cool room. Why use my central air unit that cools the entire house when I just need a bedroom unit? Saves $$$$$ This unit has visual style.

great for un-airconditioned college dorm room August 15, 2007 Reviewer:  Melissa J. Knight "missy" Real Name (cincinnati, oh)  See all my reviews >

We purchased for our sons "un airconditioned college dorm room. The space is roughly 11x20?? When we plugged the unit in and hooked up the exhaust the romm temp was 91 deg. it immediately did its job. What a relief. He has had it running non-stop for 4 days with outside temps in the high 90's and the room stays about 75! He has old crank out time windows (with 5 panels) and we had to remove one of the panels and add a piece of foam board to make the vent fit. But, well worth the effort. You could also just put in a full piece of the styro board to the top of the vent without removing the window (we figured out later!!) We tried to go the cheap route with the $99 "air cooler" -what a joke! do not waste your time!

An EXPENSIVE Air Circulator August 7, 2007 Reviewer:  Guz (NJ)  See all my reviews >

Do I have to give the product any stars?

I totally agree with "The Dude" and "Who's it". This unit is a poor performer and uses a lot of energy. I have this Air Circulator in a very Small room 10x9, and it doesn't keep the room cool.

Considering this product is 7000 BTU you would think it would be good in a small room. However this Air Circulator makes the room even smaller because of the bulky exhaust hose which is required. The unit is placed 1 - 2 feet away from the wall taking up additional space. The information on the box is misleading.

I purchased this unit back in April and wish I would have posted my review sooner. We learn from our experiences.

The product is not even on the Haier website?????

So easy a caveman can do it! August 7, 2007 Reviewer:  George Adams "George Adams" (Harrisburg, PA)  See all my reviews >

Just picked up this unit yesterday although reluctant due to the two bad ratings. I think it works great! A few key things to keep in mind; make sure the room you want to use in can be closed off and isn't too big (find a btu/ sq ft chart). Secondly, make sure you port the unit out a window as directed, sealing the gaps with duct tape. Lastly, make sure you use the remote to switch the mode light to blue, otherwise you're just using the fan or dehumidifyer and of course turn down the thermostat!
